Walrath, 4×400 Relay Team Will Compete in NCAA Track & Field Championships
Sport Articles July 1st. 2011, 12:41amJim Walrath (Big Bend, Mukwonago) and the Falcon 4×400 relay team of Lucas Mueller (Watertown, MN, Lutheran), Indy Liljevall (Lake City, MN, Lincoln), Scott Jensen (New Prague, MN, New Prague) and Nick Zeien (Hastings, MN, Hastings) will compete in the NCAA track & field National Meet that will start on Thursday.
Walrath has the 15th best throw in the nation. His best effort is 187-6 and he did that at the WIAC Championships at UW-Platteville during the first weekend of May. The hammer event will be held on Thursday starting at 2 p.m.
The Falcon relay team has the 14th best time in the country going into the national meet. Their time is 3:14.57. The preliminaries will be on Thursday at 7:55 p.m. The Falcons ran that time at the La Crosse NCAA Qualifying Meet on Thursday. If the Falcons reach the finals that will be held on Saturday at 4:15 p.m.
The NCAA Meet will be at Ohio Wesleyan University and will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
