Men’s Track & Field Competes at Augustana NCAA Qualifier
Sport Articles July 21st. 2011, 10:15amNick Zeien (Hastings, MN, Hastings) set a school record and ran a NCAA Meet provisional qualifying time in the 400 competing at the Augustana NCAA Qualifying Meet on Friday in Rock Island, Ill.
Zeien ran a time of 48.43 to set the school record. He broke his own record set earlier this year of 48.87. The time was his best of the year in the race.
Lucas Mueller (Watertown, MN, Lutheran) ran the 400 hurdles and had a time of 53.76. His time was a NCAA Meet provisional qualifying time.
Jim Walrath (Big Bend, Mukwonago) and Benjamin Tykwinski (Inver Grove Heights, MN, Simley) competed in the hammer throw. Walrath’s throw of 179-11 is a NCAA Meet provisional qualifying effort. Tykwinski had a throw of 147-feet.
James Butler (St. Paul, MN, Tartan) competed in the 110 hurdles and finished in 16.22.
Indy Liljevall (Lake City, MN, Lincoln) and Scott Jensen (New Prague, MN, New Prague) ran the 800. Liljevall finished in 1:54.55 and Jensen ran a 1:56.41.
The field for the NCAA Meet, which will be held May 24-26 in Delaware, Ohio, will be known on Sunday.
