Forward Katie Batters scored two goals and one assist last week to help the Falcons win three of a possible four points and she has been named the NCHA Player of the Week according to league Sports Information Director Brian Manahan.
In Friday’s 5-3 win at Hunt Arena, she picked up the first assist on the team’s third goal of the game that came at 16:58 of the third period. That goal gave the Falcons a 3-2 lead at the time. In Saturday’s 2-2 overtime tie at Eau Claire, she scored both of the team’s goals. She scored at 8:02 and 19:06 of the first period. Both goals drew the Falcons to even in the contest.

Daniel Alfredsson has been captain of the Ottawa Senators since 1999-2000.
Ottawa Senators winger Daniel Alfredsson was named captain and Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara got the other position.
Alfredsson, 39, is the longest-serving captain in the NHL (1999-2000) and is a lifelong Senators player, winning rookie of the year in Ottawa in 1995-96.
Chara developed into a star in Ottawa after he arrived in a 2001 trade, but Senators fans remember that he left the team in 2006 to sign a five-year free-agent deal with the Bruins.
“There have been many moments over the last year when I thought it was all over,” Kim Clijsters says of the physical ravages which continue to threaten an end to one of the most remarkable comebacks in professional sport. “These were the moments when I was disappointed and frustrated, when I got so low because it seemed all my hard work had been wasted. But the moments passed and the motivation to go back to rehab was there again. I’ve worked really hard but it’s definitely not been easy.”
Clijsters may be the most likeable professional tennis player in the world, and a sporting superstar who prefers an ordinary life to a celebrity existence, but she now faces more uncertainty.
